Danny Waine Future You 2010 Moderator Profile

Danny is the founder and Marketing Director of overseas wedding specialist ‘Perfect Weddings Abroad’. He graduated from Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University in 2007 with degree in Travel and Tourism Management. During his time at college and University he worked in customer service positions… in various businesses including Planet Holidays, Stanleybet and the Grand Teton Lodge Company; and won the inaugural ITT Student of the Year Award. Whilst at University he met his, now business partner, and went on to launch Perfect Weddings Abroad after winning a Dragon’s Den-style competition for the travel industry, the TTG Big Idea 2008. The company is on course to double it’s turnover for the second year running, and now has a growing network of around 25 weddings abroad coordinators based in the UK. He specialises in online marketing and social media and is about to launch WeddingsAbroadForum.com to enhance the existing business.

Bruce Martin Future You 2010 Speaker Profile

Bruce has worked in the travel industry for 16 years, initially working with incoming American groups into Europe. He then has spent 9 years working in travel recruitment, most recently as Operations Director at New Frontiers Recruitment, where he has co-launched Online Travel Training, which has grown to be the worlds largest travel product e-learning website in just 3 years.

Steve Lowy Future You 2010 Speaker Profile

Steve Lowy is the founder, and managing director of umi hotels, a “luxury budget” hotel group. Steve came up with the idea for the business while travelling after university, where he studied hospitality and tourism management at Salford University. On returning to the UK Steve was general manager of a backpackers’ hostel in London, before launching umi in 2007 in the former Westminster hotel. In October 2008, umi London was included in The Sunday Telegraph’s Top 50 Budget Hotels in the World and in 2010 won a prestigious Caterer Acorn award.
